Oct24Please pray for the chaplains who minister to our public safety servants.  These women and men walk into the dark and evil places of our world and strive to bring the light of Christ to those whose daily routine is making arrests, rescuing people from burning buildings and giving first aid to suffering victims.

An average of 150 police officers and firefighters die each year while performing their duties, and public safety chaplains bring comfort and assurance of God’s love to their survivors.

CBF-endorsed chaplain Clyde Waters has been senior chaplain with the Columbia South Carolina Police Department for 33 years and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Columbia Division for 19 years. Although recently retired, he continues to minister among retired officers and police officer widows through frequent phone calls and visits, with a reminder that they have not been forgotten.
