Teaching missions during the summer

Pastor Susan Joyce was tired of using the same type of Vacation Bible School curriculum year after year and decided that this summer Antioch Baptist Church in Enfield, N.C., would do something different. This year they would focus on missions.

Form
and Spark, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship's missional formation resources for preschoolers and children, helped guide the curriculum, and the VBS leadership team chose to focus on the ministry of Sam Bandela, one of CBF’s Global Missions field personnel serving in India. Read full story. For more ideas about how to keep missional formation going for children through the summer visit the Ideas page.

CBF offers a line of four resources to engage congregations in the study of missions. The resources are age-appropriate, Biblically-based, and CBF-specific and can be used in traditional missions education classes as well as in Sunday school, around the dinner table or in worship. The stories of CBF field personnel, churches, and individuals working in the world will inspire learners of all ages to live in more faithful, missional ways.
