The Cooperating Baptist Fellowship of Oklahoma is a cooperative partnership of individual Christians, churches, and institutions to carry out the work of Jesus Christ.
In a sense CBFO is a tool to help individuals, churches, and institutions serve Christ better than they could alone. We believe that cooperation is essential to taking Christ's message of love and forgiveness to people everywhere.
CBFO is committed to maintaining the Baptist vision.
In the process of cooperating we shall uphold the traditional Baptist vision in which every believer has the right and responsibility to relate to the act for God and to interpret and apply the Scripture under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We affirm that each local church, under the Lordship of Christ, is autonomous and free to determine its membership, call its leadership, direct its work, and cooperate with other churches in a manner it deems appropriate. Furthermore, we believe in religious liberty for all people and affirm that separation of church and state best protects religious liberty.
Cooperating Baptist Fellowship of Oklahoma has four major purposes:
- To inform others about issues and events in Baptist life.
- To work cooperatively in promoting global missions, ministry, evangelism, and education.
- To provide fellowship for free and faithful Baptists of Oklahoma.
- To practice and strengthen historic Baptist principles.
How To Become Involved
Anyone in sympathy with the distinctives and purposes of the CBFO is invited to join and attend our meetings. We would also welcome your contributions and prayer support for our work.
