Hear the stories of CBF churches in their own words as they describe how they successfully implemented the program. No reservations, needed. Pinnacle Leadership Associates offers the following opportunities:
Vital Skills for Ministry: The Peoplemap Communication System is designed to strengthen communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Participants will take two inventories, learn their personality type and Leadership Style Preferences, and identify a strategy for making the most of their personality strengths to perform at an optimal level in pastoral leadership. Course facilitator: Mark Tidsworth. Locations: Greenville, S.C., Sept. 9, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and then 9 a.m.-noon on Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Nov. 18 and Dec. 2. Tuition: $420, includes all inventories and manual. Columbia, S.C., Sept. 7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and then 9 a.m.-noon on Sept. 21, Oct. 5, Oct. 19, Nov. 2, Nov. 16 and Nov. 30. The Leadership Coaching Project:
Two Pinnacle services are combined into one substantive personal and professional growth opportunity. Participants will gather for a retreat, where they will learn about their leadership competencies and personality tendencies. These will be considered in light of each person’s ministry context. A Learning Plan will result, followed by six months of coaching with a Pinnacle Leadership Coach. Tuition: $840, retreat room and board: $100. Convener’s Retreat

Designed with peer learning group conveners and lay leaders in mind, retreat participants will explore their common call to participate in God’s ministry of reconciliation. This first year we are asking each Convener who participates to bring two lay leaders with them from their congregations. Retreat leadership includes: Melissa Clodfelter, Center for Congregational Health; Rick Bennett, CBF Congregational Life; and Steve Graham, CBF Leadership Development. Cost: $170 per participant (includes meals and lodging.) Each participant signing up by Sept. 25, will receive a scholarship to cover one-half of this cost subsidized by the CBF Initiative for Ministerial Excellence. View the schedule or register.
