ATLANTA – As the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s General Assembly in Washington, D.C., nears, a new video on the Fellowship’s Web site helps guide individuals through praying for the international and disenfranchised community living in the nation’s capital.

The virtual prayer walk is called "Praying for the Nations in Our Nation’s Capital" and includes photos, meditative music and a prayer. The original song, "Hear My Prayer," featured on the prayer walk is written and recorded by the Greens’ son, Brandon.

"Nations from all over the world live [in D.C.] and we want to help [Assembly attendees] see the nations, and that’s what the virtual prayer walk will help them do while they’re in D.C.," said the prayer walk’s creator Nell Green, one of CBF’s Global Missions field personnel currently serving in South Carolina.

At the Assembly, which is June 28-29 at the Washington Convention Center, the video will be part of a ministry workshop led by Green and CBF of South Carolina coordinator Marion Aldridge. In "A Missional Experience: Hearing, Seeing and Praying for God’s World," attendees will learn about seeking missional opportunities and living an intentional life of prayer.

"The workshop is about how to hear, see and then pray for God’s world and as [Assembly attendees] are in D.C., we want them to be missional Christians by going out and seeing another side of D.C. and then praying for the people who are there," Green said.

The workshop is 9 a.m. Thursday, June 28, in Independence Ballroom A of the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
