Narrative Leadership Retreat
February 5-8, 2012 Washington, D.C.
This introduction to narrative leadership will engage ministers in narrative thought and practices that can illuminate the way they lead. Participants will:
- Be invited to identify and explore their personal stories in relation to biblical narrative.
- Be asked to reflect on ways these personal and Biblical stories may disclose how one leads others.
- Participate in a narrative case presentation practice that places people in a reflecting or overhearing position.
- Explore theological themes in narrative practice.
- Have time for play and rest.
The desired outcome of the workshop is that participants will understand basic ideas of narrative work, have a clearer sense of their personal stories, know how to facilitate case presentations using a narrative approach, have curiosity about theological perspectives that inform narrative practice, and leave more rested than they were when they arrived.
