
Global Service Corp
Global Service Corps (GSC) personnel are Christians who sense the leadership of God to share his or her faith cross-culturally. The Fellowship operates in a world without borders. We seek not to compete with or duplicate the efforts of others.
The GSC program, can utilize a wide variety of training and experience on teams focusing on the needs of the “most neglected” worldwide. You may be a recent graduate from college or seminary, considering future long-term mission service, approaching retirement, or even just wanting a break from your current career. What ever your situation, the GSC program is a great option to consider.
CBF appoints couples (each must have a call to missions), single women, and single men from all phases of life as GSC missionaries. GSC assignments are 2 years in length. All GSCers work under the direct supervision of career or Affiliate CBF field personnel or ministry partner. GSC personnel also may fulfill assignments working with various CBF ministry partners globally. Learn more about the candidate process.
Basic guidelines for becoming a part of the Global Service Corps
- Active faith, believer’s baptism, current church membership and Baptist identity;
- A sense of calling from God to missionary service (not necessarily as a career);
- Good moral character and reputation;
- Physical capability to meet the demands of a vigorous assignment;
- A lifestyle of sharing their faith in Christ;
- Demonstrated sense of identity with the mission of CBF;
- Experience adequate for assignment;
- U.S. citizenship (required for overseas assignments – citizenship from North American countries may be acceptable for some North American assignments);
- Free of heavy, financial commitments.
- Demonstrates spiritual and emotional maturity;
- Demonstrates willingness and capability to work under the direct supervision of another
- Married candidates need to have been married at least 1 years

ADE TEAM
Children’s Ministry and Community Outreach SE Asia
The principal goal in this position is to develop a sustainable children’s ministry in and area of SE Asia that will reach the community in a missional way. The candidate should have ministry experience and a calling to work in a cross-cultural setting. Experience in community-based ministry, higher educational degrees, profession credentials and/or experience, and the ability to work across social-economic, ethnic and religious lines are necessary. Length: 2 years
BRIDGE Team
Home School Teacher, SE Asia--The teacher would be responsible for providing home-school instruction for two elementary age children. There would also be opportunities to be involved in other ministries—teaching English, research, office administration and social ministries. The ideal candidate must have a degree in elementary education (or in the process of completion); love children and have a desire to help them grow and mature academically as well as in their faith. The location is in Southern Thailand, a modern area that boasts a beautiful tropical climate. It is rich and diverse in culture and sensitivity to cultural differences is important. Length: 2 years
CHINA
Guangxi English Teacher, China--Year-long English teachers are needed to teach in university or college settings. Teachers need to be in good health, aware and adaptable to the conditions of living cross-culturally, be able to learn Chinese language and understand the culture. The ideal candidate(s) will hold a Bachelors degree. Training and experience in language teaching are desirable but not required for candidates who are native speakers of the language they will teach. The right personality is just as important as professional training—patience, tolerance, flexibility, optimism, the ability to get along with others and a desire to serve are a must in this position. Length: 2 years
GYPSY Cluster
English Teacher Litomerice, Czech Republic--An English Teacher teaching English as a foreign language at Bethel, House of Christian Help in Litomerice is needed. The ministry will use English as an outreach tool to the community with the goal of building transformational relationships between students and the local Czech ministry team. The candidate will serve along side an existing Czech ministry team. Length: 2 years.
Office Support Worker (Project Ruth) and Gypsy Smith School Liaison, Bucharest, Romania--a) participating in the activities of the Project Ruth office in support of the Ruth School (for illiterate Gypsy children and b) related ministries for the Gypsy people in Romania and Moldova with emphasis on assisting with the Gypsy Smith School for Leadership Training. Length: 2 years
Conversational English Teacher, Kosice, Slovakia--The right candidate will work with the English teacher at an all-Roma private eight-year school leading conversational English classes for older students and offering an after school English club for interested younger students. They will have opportunity to create their own extra-curricular club fitting with their own abilities and interests (music or sport, for example). During the summer, there will be opportunities to attend English Language church camps. The ideal candidate will be a native English speaker, ESL training would be helpful, but not required and prior ministry or work experience with children (impoverished or inner city especially) is necessary. Gifts of teaching, patience, flexibility and the ability to cope with considerable poverty are essential. Must be a self-starter and able to function without constant supervision. Length: 2 years
INTERNATIONALS—EUROPE
Refugee/Migrant Program Assistant, North Africa--This couple or single will work alongside field personnel in a ministry of support (physically and spiritually) with sub-Saharan refugees and migrants. This will involve interviewing, listening, praying, looking for solutions, and taking action. Action may take the form of humanitarian assistance (food, shelter, lodging, medical care), educational assistance (teaching ESL/French, working with students, young people, and children), or spiritual encouragement (prayer, bible study, attending and supporting refugee/migrant churches). Record keeping and data entry are also a big part of the job. Flexibility, adaptability, willingness to work with different faith backgrounds (particularly Islam) and belief that migration is a human right are a must. Multi-cultural experience and French language functionality are desirable. Length: 2 years
INTERNATIONALS—NORTH AMERICA
Advocate for International Women San Francisco Bay Area, California--This position is for one woman or a couple. They will focus on international women who are at risk and reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. The main goal is twofold: 1) to advocate among Christians and Christian organizations in the Bay area for international women living in crisis; and 2) to minister directly with international women in need. Length: 2 years
Social Ministries Coordinator, Asheville, NC--This ministry will be working among the Slavic community in Asheville, NC. The Coordinator will work closely with immigrant families from countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and Belarus. Primary responsibilities may include: coordinating services to families and individuals, Bible clubs and opportunities for ESL programs. It is important that this person be able to provide a positive Christian witness within the predominately Russian-speaking community through the development of relationships with the families. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and able to work independently. They will need excellent computer and telephone skills and have strong organizational skills. Length: 2 years.
International Students Ministry Coordinator San Francisco, California
The Ministry Coordinator would seek to reach the many internationals in an academic setting attend San Francisco State University, including ministries to international students, scholars, visiting professors and their families. The unit will seek out and create opportunities to minister to and build relationships through creative activities that come about through the unit’s gifts and areas of interest. They will seek to share Christ’s love and hope with them. The coordinator would work alongside various organizations and churches to help them continue or start ministry among IAS/students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with student—international student experience would be helpful. They will be flexible, a self-starter, have good interpersonal skills, outgoing personality and the ability to build relationships easily. Length: 2 years
LATIN AMERICA-CARIBBEAN
School Teacher, Haiti--Teaching opportunities for small preschool grade school for two missionary children in the mornings and English teaching for Haitian university students in the afternoon. Length: 1 year
Volunteer Program Coordinator, Haiti--To serve as the coordinator for volunteers working in Christian Wholistic Health Ministries in Haiti and working in programs related to the ministry of the Christian University of North Haiti. The coordinator would be based at the university and would be responsible for communicating program needs in Haiti with partner churches, institutions and individuals as well as facilitating the logistical needs for the volunteers working in Haiti. Length: 2 years
Middle East
NGO Coordinator, Middle East--Work in a local NGO. Write grant applications for funding projects. Project plan preparations and recommendations to NGO Council. Teach ESL. Children’s work. Migrant camp relief work. A variety of projects are possible. Active in local church. Length: 2 years
Teacher/Youth Worker Middle East
A teacher is needed to teach expatriate students in an English language environment and work with youth in a local church. Teaching experience is helpful, but not required. The person must be flexible; able to establish and develop relationships with neighbors, friends and church attendees and be able to follow home-school materials. Length: 2 years
SUB-SAHARAB AFRICA TEAM
Development Initiatives Coordinator, East Africa--This individual will facilitate community-based projects related to the achievement of Millennium Development Goals, the environment and food security, and to assist in coordinating missional church partnerships through an established program. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively in the native language, will have cross-cultural experience, have the ability to conduct environmental assessments. Length: 2 years
TRANSFORMATIONAL DEVELOPMENT—US
Stories on Wheels Ministry Coordinator, Helena, Arkansas--The coordinator will be responsible for daily children’s programs based out of Helena Community Center. Programs will include library, after school tutoring, language learning, literacy and/or sports and leadership. The assignment will require someone who is trained or good with youth ages six to eighteen. The ideal candidate will be a good planner, organizer and mobilizer for the recruitment of local volunteers and have good control/command of leadership and motivation skills. Experience in library management is a plus, but not required. Computer skills are necessary to handle library functions and other ministry reporting activities. Must be comfortable around sports programs and physical activities as this assignment is located in a community center. Length: 2 years
Open Hands Enterprise Coordinator, Helena, Arkansas--This person would be responsible for developing new business startup opportunities with local Christian entrepreneurs and faith-based organizations in Phillips and Lee Counties. This would include training workers, identifying business opportunities, determining feasibility of the business, providing entrepreneur training and mentoring. The ideal candidate will have business development experience, understand the elements of entrepreneurship and marketing and know business contacts. The candidate must be strong in spirit and health. Length: 2 years
Sports Leadership Coordinator, Helena, Arkansas--The Academy Director will develop and manage county-wide programs to teach and train young athletes to be better leaders and athletes. The program will be applied to the sports of baseball, basketball, football, tennis and soccer. The director will develop spiritual as well as physical programs to help develop each person to their fullest potential. The program will work with the school systems to help develop their feeder systems of athletes to the higher levels. Candidate must have athlete training, a sports management degree is preferred, but coaching experience will be considered for the right candidate. Must be a good motivator and coach and comfortable in a mixed-race environment. Must be strong in spirit and health. Length: 2 years
URBAN TEAM
Urban Ministries—Community Outreach Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York--Community outreach ministry in a multiracial neighborhood partnering with a local public housing project and a store front church committed to being the presence of Christ in one of New York City’s most challenging neighborhoods. Will interface with churches around the nation that come to partner in volunteer missions in NCY. Length: 2 years (09-11)
Urban Ministry Worker, Detroit, Michigan--Based on the skills, gifts and calling of the person, partners in ministry in the inner-city community of central Detroit are seeking someone who wants to explore their calling in urban ministry. They must have the skills, education and talent to work in the inner city. There are opportunities to work with children and youth in several after school programs, summer camps and work with families and adults in social service programs. In addition, there are multiple opportunities to assist in training and equipping church members through partnerships. Length: 2 years
