Children, Family, and Construction Ministry - Texas
Teams and individuals are needed to work with Buckner Children and Family Services in a variety of ministries in the Rio Grande area of Texas. Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists - China
Physical therapist, occupational therapist, and/or speech pathologist are needed to assist in an orphanage. The therapists would provide daily therapy for children, long term evaluation, and training to the local Chinese who also work with the children. Gulf Coast Rebuilding Efforts - Gulf Coast Area
Hurricane Katrina Relief work in Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. Teams are needed for drywall removal, drywall installation, removal and installation of flooring, roofing, painting, and general clean-up. Teams will have basic conditions; sleeping bag or cot space, shower trailer, and possible use of a church kitchen. Teams are responsible for their own meals and should bring a general helper to run errands and coordinate meals. When: Ongoing Length: Flexible

Swimming Instructors and Helpers - Helena, Arkansas
Instructors needed to teach swimming lessons to kids, ages 6-12, from Monday to Friday. Individuals will work in teams of two, instructing five to seven kids. Swimming instructor certification not required, but volunteers must be excellent swimmers capable of teaching skills to beginners. Red Cross and YMCA swimming program guidelines will be followed by all instructors. Lesson for kids will be from 10am to 1pm each day. Adult lessons will be evenings, 6pm to 7pm. Instructors and helpers must be at least 14 years old. Housing available at a local church for $15 per week. When: June 2008 Length: One Week

Summer Camp Workers- Homestead, Florida
Summer camps workers needed to assist Open House Ministries summer camp, for approximately 70 children, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, Monday - Friday. The children will have four sessions each day (Bible study, music, crafts, and recreation). Volunteers should come prepared to assist in one specific area, based on their talents and gifts. Housing is available at a local rooming house for $12 per night, possible use of church fellowship hall, or local motels. When: Summer 2008 Length: Six Days

Medical Clinic - India
A general medical team, two doctors and four nurses, is needed to treat members of a hill tribe in southern India. Dentists and dental techs are invited to serve as well. Typical presentations include upper respiratory issues, intestinal problems, and complications from poor nutrition. Basic living conditions for the team. All volunteers should be in excellent health. Estimated cost: $2500. This medical clinic is a joint project with Baptist Medical Dental Fellowship (http://www.bmdf.org/).

Nanning Cultural Immersion Experience - China
Visit churches in Nanning, capital of Guangxi province, worship with Chinese Christians and dialogue with Christian leaders. Visit CBF English teachers in Nanning schools and guest lecture. Play with children at Angel House, a school for Chinese kids with cerebral palsy, and allow them the opportunity to develop and display important social skills. When: Open (March, April, May, September, October, November, and December are optimal) Length: 10 days

Zhongshan Road Church Summer Program - China
English teachers are needed at Zhongshan Road Church for adults and children with varying degrees of English competency. Due to the range of English skills, from novice to beginner, experienced English teachers are desired for this opportunity. A basic curriculum is provided, but volunteers must fully develop the material. Youth groups and college students are invited to participate in the high school portion of this ESL opportunity as activity assistants and conversation motivators, and would be able to build relationships with local students. Medical Professionals - China
Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and Developmental Interventionists are needed to assist in the Tianjin Institute of Children's Welfare and other classrooms for handicapped children. Volunteers will work with staff therapists and teachers to provide daily therapy for disabled children, long term evaluation, and training for local teachers and aunties who also work with the children. Interpreters provided for volunteers. When: July for Tianjin; Nanning option has some scheduling flexibility Length: Two to Four weeks

Appalachia Beautification Projects - Owsley and Powell counties, Kentucky
Many homes need trash removed from yards. Bushes and trees need trimming. Trucks will be useful to haul debris to local dumps. Groups should bring their own tools, equipment, and trucks. Help bring faith, beauty, and order to a rural, poverty-stricken people needing to find Jesus in you. Lodging is available for $10 per person per day at a nearby mission center. Housing Repairs- Owsley and Powell counties, Kentucky
Volunteers are needed to install windows, remove and replace flooring, build wheel chair ramps, lay shingle roofs, and perform other types of housing repair and renovation. Individuals and teams need to bring their own tools and equipment. Housing available for $10 per night at a local mission center. When: Ongoing Length: Flexible

Conversational English Teachers - China
Teams or individuals are needed to teach conversational English to 13 to 17 year olds in Sichuan province. This is a 10 day camp for junior high and high school students. Curriculum provided in advance for teachers. Volunteers will teach in two or three person teams, with three hours of English teaching in the mornings and afternoon activities organized by teachers (music, drama, art, games, etc.). Lodging in local motels, meals, and local transportation included in estimated cost. When: Summer 2008 Length: Two weeks

Baton Rouge Build - Baton Rouge, LA
CBF and Habitat for Humanity are looking for skilled and unskilled volunteers to come to Baton Rouge, La., and build 12 houses in two weeks! You will be working alongside other Baptist groups and 12 hurricane affected families to build not just their houses, but to build homes and communities. We need more than 100 volunteers per day to do construction, hospitality, landscaping, painting and work in other areas. Please contact us for more information and to receive a volunteer packet with more details. Whether you are able to work a couple of days or the whole two weeks, we need you! All tools and materials are provided. All volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Please note: There will be a one-time fee made payable to Habitat of Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge of $100 per person, which includes two meals each day and lodging for one week. If you do not use Habitat lodging facilities, then the cost is $50 per person.

AIDS Ministry Initiative - Knoxville, TN
Samaritan Ministry, an AIDS ministry in Knoxville, is seeking a team from a local church to mentor in building a similar work. Samaritan Ministry will provide training and technical support, including assisting with the identification of a church lay point person, and structure for oversight of the ministry by church staff. This type of ""affiliate ministry"" will depend on the talents of the volunteer team, the resources available, and the community need. Assessment of these areas will be conducted with the assistance of Samaritan Ministry. In addition, HIV/AIDS training is mandatory, and will be provided by Samaritan Ministry, a CBF partner. Community Service Project- Nationwide
This project will support an AIDS service organization in your community or Samaritan Ministry in Knoxville by serving in a project designed to assist individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The volunteer team will contact a local AIDS service organization and identify client needs and areas of ministry. Once this needs assessment is finished, the team develops a plan to meet the needs. A team can choose to work with Samaritan Ministry in Knoxville. Grocery deliveries, transportation, friendship, a Starbucks coffee, and provision of toiletry articles are some examples of how teams can be Christ in this ministry. Weekend Misison Project - Knoxville, TN
This project is designed to be completed in a long weekend, completing an assignment for an individual or agency located in Knoxville. Depending on the time of year, the work might involve painting, landscaping, or other outdoor projects. Serving meals at a local agency is also an option. This project is coordinated by Samaritan Ministry, an organization devoted to people with HIV/AIDS and a CBF partner. When: Immediately Length: Two or three days

Church Planter - Missouri An experienced church planter is needed to assist with a Bosnian Christian church start. The volunteer will work directly with a fulltime pastor in this effort. Assistant to ESL Teacher - Africa
Under the supervision of field personnel, the volunteer would teach English to small groups of students during the day. The rest of the time would be free to make relationships, volunteer in other capacities with the students (sports, drama, art, and outings), work with charitable projects through the Hand in Hand charity association, and/or help with children's activities in the church, according to volunteer's interest. English teachers or individuals with ESL background are needed to teach conversational English classes in a non-profit English language school for students and professionals. When: Ongoing Length: 2 weeks to several months

Visiting Professor and Research Scholar- China
The main responsibility will be to teach one or two seminars in the base school in Hong Kong. The volunteer may also travel to several other schools within the consortium to teach, possibly Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines. When: Ongoing Length: 6 months to 1 year

Teacher - Middle East
Teachers and administrators are needed who could assist with the formation of a small school designed to teach children in English. This assignment will include teaching a variety of subjects to students ranging from 6-16 years old. The teacher will also be encouraged to develop ministries with nationals. When: Ongoing Length: 1 year or more

Church Relations Assistant - El Salvador
Habitat for Humanity (HFH) El Salvador is seeking a Church Relations Assistant to develop the coordination and logistics of a campaign to build 500 houses within the next five years. Duties will include researching North American religious organizations that have connections in El Salvador as well as religious organizations within the country. Other tasks include maintaining partner database and the campaign website, networking with local, regional, and North American churches, planning build events, and developing financial and volunteer support. In addition, some travel within El Salvador will be required to support the campaign. Volunteer must have advanced skills in spoken and written English and Spanish. Two years of theological training, and work experience in a multi-cultural assignment are preferred. Volunteer will receive a $300 monthly expense allowance and expenses for meals associated with work-related travel. This position is a joint effort of Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Habitat for Humanity - El Salvador. When: Available Now. Length: Six to Twelve Months

Long Term Medical Professionals - China

Arab-American Friendship Center Coordinator-Dearborn, Michigan
The Coordinator will work in a cross-cultural setting with ethnic Arabs, holistically improving the lives' of immigrants. This person will be mentored, trained ,and given ESL assignments, supervise the Center's daily operations, and assist with the Friday Fellowship Worship Services. The Coordinator will also have the opportunity to attend Arabic classes and use friendship evangelism with local people. Summmer interns, at least 18 years old, are needed at the Andrew P. Stewart Center in Atlanta. The interns must enjoy long days working with inner city children, including picking-up kids in the mornings, preparing snacks, Bible Stories, leading arts and crafts, chaperoning field trips, etc. Interns will need a high energy level and encouraging spirit for this demanding but rewarding opportunity. The Andrew P. Stewart Center runs a Day Camp for children in Atlanta. Teams will help with Bible studies, field trips, and recreational activities. Volunteers will be able to love children that sometimes seem unlovable. Summer teams can make an amazing difference for these children. When: June-July 2008 Length: One to two weeks

Dormitory Renovation - Texas
World Hunger Relief trains individuals for missions and agricultural development assignments in developing countries. Two apartments for workers on home assignment need completing in the dormitory. This project involves framing, insulating, and finishing out. Sheetrock work and installing a kitchen and bath are current needs. This project will require skilled labor and experienced workers as well as inexperienced helpers. When: Ongoing Length: One week or more

Urban Summer Camp and Homeless Ministry- Touching Miami with Love
Teams will coordinate a summer camp for children (K-5), lead worship services to include preaching, assist with a clothing closet, fellowship with the homeless, and prepare meals. Afternoons and evenings will include working in a local gardening project, BBQ cookout, movie night, and a tour of the historic Overtown and downtown Miami districts. Teams need to have 25 people to staff all projects and events during the week. Cost is $240 per person for room and board, field trip, and administrative fees. Does not include transportation to and from Miami. When: July 2008 Length: One week

Teams are needed for sports camps, Bible clubs, medical and dental clinics, and minor household repairs in the El Paso and Berino, New Mexico areas. Kindergarten Teachers- Balkans
A team of three or four people are needed to work with the teaching staff of a local kindergarten. The team will be creating lesson plans, making visual aids, and teaching in a special four-day class for children who have just completed their yearlong kindergarten program. Field Trips for Impoverished Youth - Owsley County, Kentucky
Teams are needed to arrange, fund, and chaperone field trips for the poor youth of Owsley county. Few have been more than 50 miles from their homes. An activity to Natural Bridge State Park for a cookout and swimming would be a rare opportunity for the young people of this area. Help give these kids a worldview outside Owsley county while drawing them a picture of Christ. Day trips can be made to numerous locations within a 200 mile radius. School buses, and drivers, can be leased for the field trip. No other vehicles are available for rent within 60 miles. Length: One to five days When: Summer 2008 or during school breaks

Andrew P. Stewart Center - Atlanta, Georgia
Youth teams can have a rewarding ministry opportunity working a day camp with inner city youth at the Andrew P. Stewart Center. Responsibilities include staffing the day camp under the guidance of the Center Director and summer interns. Youth teams will lead arts and crafts, prepare snacks, tell Bible stories, pick up kids in the morning, and chaperone field trips. Teams can stay at the Center and cook their own meals, paying $3 per person, per night for lodging. When: June-July 2008. Length: One week

English Camp and Landscaping Teams - Slovakia
Team needed to teach spoken English, in cooperation with a local elementary school, during a morning program. Options include interactive presentation about life in your home state, the United States, or aspects of American culture. Afternoon options include sports camps, art, music, dancing, or other group activities. Some opportunities for one-on-one English conversation will be available at a coffee shop in the local ministry center. A team is also needed to landscape and do light construction work at the church and ministry center. Actual work can, to a large degree, be tailored to the skills and abilities of the team.
