Village Medical Team, Macedonia
There are four remote villages in need of medical assistance. Groups (up to 6 people) will be working with two doctors (one Macedonian, one Albanian). The clinics will be for women and children and involve general check-ups and healthcare issues.

Women's Shelter Facility Repair, Enfield, NC
Faith House is a homeless shelter for women and children. It is location in an impoverished area. The structure used for the shelter is 100 years old and is in need of repair! Window replacement, painting, roofing, and porch repair are all needed.

Homeless Shelter Repair and Service Work, Roanoke Rapids, NC
Union Mission is a community center and homeless shelter, located in the downtown area. Facility painting is the most crucial need with regards to the repair. There is also a need for a children's day camp or after-school program.

Amity Summer English Program Teacher, China
Individuals are needed to assist rural English teachers in improving their oral English skills. This, in turn, helps children from the countryside have a chance at passing the college entrance exam. Teaching experience preferred. Click here for more details.

Urban Summer Day Camp, Baptist Temple Church, San Antonio, TX
Summer mission teams will provide a ministry that goes a long way to bring the presence of Christ to this area of need. Part of the ministry will include a VBS-like summer day camp experience for neighborhood children. Other work will include maintenance projects, backyard bible clubs, music group performances or work at other ministries in the community.

Boarding School Ministry, Arica, Chile
Teams are needed to travel to the far north of Chile (in the Andes) to minister to children who are left at government run schools for months at a time. Feeling abandoned, the children need love and attention. Groups could provide sports clinics, craft activities, and English classes. Time, love, and attention are needed most. Because this is an impoverished area of the country, groups will need to provide ministry materials (craft supplies, sports equipment, etc.). Ministering among the "Lead" people, Arica, Chile
Medical teams and professionals are needed to work among the "Lead" people of Arica. In the far north, several thousand people (men, women, & children) have been exposed to lead, mercury, and other heavy metals due to chemical waste dumping. Barrels of toxic chemicals continue to seep into the ground and drinking water around their homes. Basic medical attention as well as specialized services (optometrists, gynecologists, dermatologists, hematologists, etc) is desperately needed. Local officials are unable to provide adequate treatment. When: Ongoing Length: Open

Church Construction, Santiago, Chile
First Baptist Church of Macul needs assistance completing their new church building. Most of the work is done, but additional materials and workers are needed for completion. When: Ongoing Length: Open

Baptist Retirement Home Renovation, Santiago, Chile
A retirement home for Baptist women has fallen into disrepair. Groups are needed to assist with basic stucco and tile work. The home has raised a portion of the funds needed for building supplies, but additional assistance may be needed. When: Ongoing Length: Open

The Timothy Project, Variety of Locations in the Southern U.S.
The Timothy Project coordinates mission trips and activities for church groups (primarily youth) in the southeastern United States.  They work with groups to coordinate their missions activities, lodging, meals, and more. Groups can do VBS or Back Yard Bible Clubs 
for at-risk children, ministry to homeless, construction, environmental stewardship, or a combination of options. When: Summer 2010

Individual and small teams (3-5 people) are needed to help provide access to health care and health education for isolated Roma communities. Partnerships with local churches, community centers, and schools provide community entry points to reach out with the love of Christ to the roma. Assignments will be planned around the specialties of team members. Women's health, pediatric health, community health issues, etc--the possibilities are limited only by the interests of the team. Bedouin Ministry & Hunger Relief, Lebanon
Teams are needed to assist with ministry in Bedouin areas. Ministries include working with children, preparing and delivering food and medicine, building, and more. When: Ongoing Length: 10 days

Individuals and teams are needed to assist throughout the country of Ghana. Micro-enterprise ministry options, orphanage work, web-site assistance, construction projects and even children's camp workers are needed. Projects can be customized based on the skill sets of applicants.

Desperately needs a volunteer with a clerical background. The OHM office is in need of a major make-over. Volunteer(s) are needed to file, clean, and organize so that the ministry can function more efficiently.

Sowing Seeds of Hope: Variety of Social Ministies, Alabama
Teams and Families are needed to help in the areas of: housing rehabilitation; literacy; community development projects; health care; sports/drama camps for youth and children; partnerships with local organizations and churches; and other special projects keeping with the specific skills/interests of the short term group. Teams are needed to provide livable housing in some of the poorest counties in the United States. Work often involves roof and flooring repair, as well as porch and ramp repair building. Urban Summer Camp and Homeless Ministry, Touching Miami with Love
Teams will coordinate a summer camp for children (K-5), lead worship services to include preaching, assist with a clothing closet, fellowship with the homeless, and prepare meals. Afternoons and evenings will include working in a local gardening project, BBQ cookout, movie night, and a tour of the historic Overtown and downtown Miami districts. Teams need to have 25 people to staff all projects and events during the week. Cost is $240 per person for room and board, field trip, and administrative fees. Does not include transportation to and from Miami. When: Summer Length: One week

Swimming Instructors and Helpers - Helena, Arkansas
Instructors needed to teach swimming lessons to kids, ages 6-12, from Monday to Friday. Individuals will work in teams of two, instructing five to seven kids. Swimming instructor certification not required, but volunteers must be excellent swimmers capable of teaching skills to beginners. Red Cross and YMCA swimming program guidelines will be followed by all instructors. Lesson for kids will be from 10am to 1pm each day. Adult lessons will be evenings, 6pm to 7pm. Instructors and helpers must be at least 14 years old. Housing available at a local church for $15 per week. When: Summer Length: One Week

Individuals/teams will work in the impoverished areas of Phillips and Lee Counties. Projects will include VBS/Sports camps, Bookshelf Buddies (a mentoring literacy program combining light construction with reading times), Stories on Wheels, community garden, and blessing ministry. Gulf Coast Rebuilding, Gulf Coast

Haiti Earthquake Response, Grand Goave, Haiti
Medical and construction teams are needed to be a part of our response efforts in Haiti. Medical personnel such as: doctors, nurses, dentists, EMTs, and more are needed. Construction teams will be doing a lot of cement and bock work.

Chile Earthquake Response
Churches and teams are needed to partner with the Chilean Baptist Union to rebuild churches that have been destroyed by the recent earthquake. 14 churches and 10 parsonages are so damaged that they have to be demolished and rebuilt. Another 50 churches have sustainable repairable damage.

Prayer and Visioning Encounter focused of Human Trafficking, Los Angeles
Groups (no larger than 10 or 12 people) are invited to receive training on how to respond to potential trafficking situations in their local communities, visit high risk areas for trafficking in Los Angeles, meet a trafficking survivor, participate in community outreach, and offer prayer support for local anti-human trafficking workers and victims.

Immigrant Community Outreach, Southern Spain
Teams or individuals are needed to do immigrant community outreach. This includes, but is not limited to, classes to teach a trade (sewing, computer skills, etc), children's activities, cultural exchange cooking, development of media pieces, bible studies/discipleship training, coffee/tea house, feeding the hungry, vegetable delivery, and more. Volunteers are welcome, in collaboration with field personnel, to be creative with regards to ministries. Ministries will be formed around volunteers' skill sets and passions. This opportunity is very flexible. Spanish or French skills would be useful, but are not required as there are many English speaking immigrants in the area. Social and Spiritual Outreach Volunteer(s), Southern Spain
Teams or individuals will work to build relationships with African immigrants through humanitarian outreach, micro-enterprise development, educational classes, etc. so that they might be able to share their personal testimony and how God has changed their life in a very personal way. volunteers may also be working with local African Evangelical  Congregations by leading worship, discipleship/faith formation classes, children's ministry activities, music programs, etc. (in English). Spanish-speaking volunteers would have the opportunity to work with local Spanish Baptist Churches to provide training, lead services, and partner in ministries specific to a local church. Summer Camp Workers, Homestead, Florida
Summer camp workers needed to assist Open House Ministries summer camp, for approximately  70 children, from 8:30-2:30, Monday through Friday. The children will have four lessons each day (Bible study, music, crafts, and recreation.) Workers should come prepared to assist in one specific area, based on their talents and gifts. Housing is available at a local rooming house for $12 per night, possible use of church fellowship hall, or local motels. When: Summer Length: Six days

Spring/Summer Hospitality Manager in Athens, Greece
A couple is needed to assist with the program and provide hospitality ministry for PORTA – the Albania House in Athens, for a period of from 3 weeks to 2 months, for a agreed-upon time frame, sometime between May and July, 2011. Duties include coordination of volunteers, assistance with management of day-to-day operations and encouragement of small groups of English-speaking Albanian believers.

Social Work Professional in Athens, Greece
A current or recently-retired professor of social work or an active social worker is needed to establish relationships/networks with Greek social workers and provide a generalized social needs assessment overview of the Albanian immigrant community in selected neighborhoods in Athens, Greece. Results of networking and assessment will be used in program development through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens. Translation assistance is available.

Individuals or teams are needed to assist with social needs surveys. Social sciences students gain valuable field experience in cross-cultural social work systems and survey administration through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens. Translation assistance is available.

Christian couples with healthy families and training or experience in marriage and family enrichment are needed to lead workshops for young Albanian couples. Computer/Electronic Technician in Athens, Greece
An individual is needed to provide general electronic and Internet technology assistance for PORTA –the Albania House in Athens. For a period of from 1 to 3 weeks, the person would advise, trouble-shoot technical problems, make repairs, propose further technological development, etc. regarding the Computer Learning Center at PORTA, media options, as well as other technology-related issues to support this ministry among Albanian immigrants in Athens, Greece.

English, Sport, or Roma Children's Camp, Czech Republic
Teams of 7-10 individuals are needed to assist with English, sports or children's camps. The English camp will be an outreach to the community. Team members will speak in schools, do daily presentations, and do activities to assist the local ministry in making contact in the community. The sports camp will be very similar, only with sports as the theme. The Roma Children's Camp will provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Roma children by providing a church group experience; this includes Bible studies, games, crafts, etc. When: Ongoing Length: One week

“Barnabas Friends” are needed to work one-on-one or in small (3 member) English-language groups of new Albanian Believers for a minimum period of two weeks. Meeting with Albanian believers, the person will assist in the development of spiritual disciplines (prayer, quiet time, scripture memory, etc.) and share other practices essential to Christian discipleship through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens.

A team is needed to provide crafts, recreation and drama for VBS in June, 2011 at the Second Greek Evangelical Church in Athens, Greece. Most of the children are from Albanian immigrant families and are ministered to through the church and PORTA – the Albania House in Athens. Translation assistance is available.

A team of two teachers will work with university students for 5 nights--3 hours each--on advanced English skills (university-level)--through conversation and enriched studies. This trip also includes our annual trip to the zoo for children who attend the "Future of the Family Kindergarten." You will have the opportunity to work with Albanians and Macedonians to experience their cultures firsthand, see some of the historic sites of Macedonia, and be partners with us in a very special ministry.

Individuals and teams are needed to assist with English-as-a-Foreign-Language training. Persons and groups can provide conversation labs for and friendship with Albanian immigrants in Athens, Greece who are learning English through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens.

EFL In-Service Teacher Training in Athens, Greece
An individual is needed to offer an in-service workshop for the EFL faculty of PORTA – the Albania House in Athens and a “How to Teach EFL” seminar for inexperienced EFL teachers from the Albanian & American expat community. 4 current teachers need refresher training in curriculum updates, games, supplementary resources available, use of the Internet, new ideas, etc. and numerous Albanian & American expats need beginner teacher training.

Leadership Training for Youth in Athens, Greece
Individuals with a concern for young people and cross-cultural experience are needed to inspire and train Albanian immigrant youth toward the personal disciplines necessary to develop as leaders, in school and in the future. Volunteers will provide individualized instruction, mentoring and friendship, as well as lay the ground work for summer leadership camp for Albanian youth through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens.

Computer Instruction in Athens, Greece
Individuals with experience and training in computer learning and usage are needed to provide simple, English-language introductory instruction and labs for Albanian immigrants and/or advanced training for the local Albanian computer instructor. Individualized learning is offered through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens.

Arts and Crafts Enrichment for Albanians in Athens, Greece
Individuals or teams are needed to assist with art and creativity workshops for children and adults. Most participants are Albanian immigrants and participate in programs through the Second Greek Evangelical Church and PORTA- the Albania House in Athens. Translation assistance is available.

Mime and Drama Teams for Albanians in Athens, Greece
Groups are needed to perform short, Christian dramas for both adult and children’s audiences. Workshops for those interested in drama could also be offered through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens. Translation assistance is available.

Puppet Ministry Assistance for Albanian Believers in Athens, Greece
Individuals with experience in cross-cultural puppet ministry are needed to assist Albanian believers with little experience in puppet ministry. Informal workshops will be offered through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens regarding how to use puppets, where to find music and how to communicate simple Gospel truths to a non-English speaking audience. Translation assistance is available.

Library Development in Athens, Greece
A trained librarian or an individual with library experience is needed to update the lending library for PORTA – the Albania House in Athens. This library for Albanian immigrants in Athens was originally organized in July, 2009; assistance is needed to update the holdings which have been received since that time; work involves classification and location of new holdings. Workers with a background in ESL work are needed to teach English in South Korea. Swimming Instructors and Helpers, Helena, Arkansas
Instructors needed to teach swimming lessons to kids, ages 6-12, from Monday to Friday. Individuals will work in teams of two, instructing five to seven kids. Swimming instructor certification not required, but volunteers must be excellent swimmers capable of teaching skills to beginners. Red Cross and YMCA swimming program guidelines will be followed by all instructors. Lessons for kids will be from 10am to 1pm each day. Adult lessons will be evenings, 6pm to 7pm. Conversational English Teachers - China
Teams or individuals are needed to teach conversational English to 13 to 17 year olds in Sichuan province. This is a 10 day camp for junior high and high school students. Curriculum provided in advance for teachers. Volunteers will teach in two or three person teams, with three hours of English teaching in the mornings and afternoon activities organized by teachers (music, drama, art, games, etc.). Individuals with financial management training or experience are needed to lead workshops in personal finances. Curriculum includes basic money management practices, such as budgeting, saving, credit dangers, etc. Albanian immigrant singles and couples participate in workshops through PORTA – the Albania House in Athens. Translation assistance is available.

Ghana
Individuals and teams are needed to assist throughout the country of Ghana. Micro-enterprise ministry options, orphanage work, web-site assistance, construction projects and even children's camp workers are needed. Projects can be customized based on the skill sets of applicants.
