Joel and Tiffne Whitley
Location: Spain
Commissioned: 2003
Home state: Texas
In southern Spain, Joel and Tiffne Whitley seek to be the presence of Christ among the large migrant and refugee communities. People from Africa make up much of the migrant community in Spain, having left everything behind – family, friends, home – in search of a better life. The Whitleys work to develop relationships in migrant neighborhoods and connect with local churches.
“I want others to be able to have a personal relationship with God,” Tiffne said. “There are many migrants and refugees from countries in Africa who have not heard [the gospel]. It is our hope to build relationships with them, helping them with humanitarian needs and spiritual needs.”
