Janee Angel

Janee serves in Brussels, Belgium, where she teaches English at a social center in an immigrant and refugee neighborhood. Although she lives in Europe, 90 percent of the people she works with are from North Africa and the Middle East.

As she teaches English and works at the Centre Oasis, a ministry center owned by the Union of Belgian Baptists, Janee strives to be the presence of Christ. She helps her students outside of class, develops friendships, is active in a local Arab Protestant church, and leads Bible studies. On many occasions, Janee has the opportunity to share with her predominantly Muslim students and friends about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Centre Oasis, which has been operated by CBF field personnel for years, is known locally as a safe haven for people of all nations, religions and backgrounds to gather. In addition to English classes, there are movie nights, community dinners, Bible studies, discipleship, music lessons, children’s camps and more. Since its opening, Centre Oasis has served people from more than 55 different nations.
