Disaster Response Ministries

Disasters can strike when we least expect them and impact hundreds of thousands of lives. You can be part of delivering the hope of Christ in times of crisis. The following projects aid with disaster response ministries.

Hurricane Relief

Join efforts to help people and communities in crisis

Nearly every hurricane season there is at least one major storm that causes major destruction in a community and region. Although not a disaster relief organization, the Fellowship responds to these disasters, often as a long-term presence that helps rebuild long after the news coverage of the disaster has ceased. Be part of this response ministry and help people in crisis.

$10.00 Your gift provides equipment, tools and funds for rebuilding and restoring homes, communities and lives.

Water for Hope

Provide access to clean water

Lack of access to safe water is one of the biggest “silent” disasters in the world, impacting an estimated 1.1 billion people. Your gift helps ensure that remote villages have access to a clean water supply.

$25.00 provides access to water for 25 people for one year.

$700.00 provides for a water pump.

$5,000.00 constructs one well, giving up to 250 people access to safe water.

Hunger relief

Respond to the hunger crisis

Every night there are people who go to sleep hungry. The Fellowship hunger relief fund responds to hunger crises around the world, including major famines among some of the world’s poorest people. Be part of addressing these crises and working toward sustainable solutions.

$15.00 buys one home garden irrigation kit.

$5,000.00 provides emergency assistance for CBF field personnel to respond to famine situations in their ministry areas.

$500.00 provides emergency food supplies for 200 children for one day.

Disaster Relief

Respond to disasters worldwide

Major disasters often come out of nowhere, with potential to strike anywhere and leave thousands or millions of people in crisis situations. The Fellowship responds to these disasters through its field personnel, who are serving around the world, and its network of ministry partners. Whether it’s a tsunami, flood, earthquake or other disaster, the Fellowship is there, and you can be a part of this response.

$10.00 Your gift provides emergency funding to field personnel and partners addressing the most immediate needs following a disaster. Items purchased include blankets, food, medicine or other life-saving supplies.

Clean water

Provide drinking water for a village in Southeast Asia

Along a river in Southeast Asia, many villagers have the option to buy clean drinking water but can’t afford to do so. Therefore, they use the river water for all their needs – bathing, cleaning dishes and clothes, and drinking. Your gift will help provide villagers with access to clean water, which is necessary for health. Villagers will be provided with the materials and training to build a sand filtration system for clean water.

$6.00 provides one sack of cement needed in building the water filter foundation.

$80.00 provides a 550 L water tank.

$100.00 provides all filter media (rocks and sand) for one filter.

$133.00 provides a 900 L water tank.

$300.00 provides all piping and pipe fittings for one water filter.

$2,550.00 provides the total cost for one water filter.

$44.00 provides a water pump.

$125.00 provides a 900 L water tank.

Asian Response

Help ongoing recovery efforts in Southeast Asia

In 2004, the Fellowship responded to the Southeast Asian tsunami, one of the deadliest natural disasters of our time. The Fellowship continues to respond in multiple countries in the region, including Indonesia, where earthquakes are frequent - like two that shook the country in October. Indonesia sits along a major fault line, making it susceptible to many earthquakes, including the 2004 tsunami. Local residents, including many who live on less than $2 a day, need homes that can withstand future earthquakes. When you give to this project, you are helping ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts in this region.

$10.00 Your gift in increments of $10 will help recovery efforts in Indonesia and other areas of Southeast Asia
