Global Missional Church Network Specialist

RESPONSIBILITY:

To facilitate the development, facilitation and oversight of all Global Missions Networks as related to Field Personnel, Memorandums of Understanding, Communities of Missional Practice and CBF Missional Church Networks; to facilitate the before mentioned networks becoming virtual interactive communities by using the designed CBF webpage and other approved and designed means; to be the Missional Church “marketing” person for stories and promotion in coordination with CBF Advancement; promoting the Global Missions Networks by telling the missions stories; to serve as a member of the GM Missional Church Team and the Global Missions Administrative Cluster.

RELATES TO

Missional Church Team (MCT); GM Administrative Cluster; Field personnel; CBF staff; Ministry partners; CBF partner schools and other universities; local church staff members; Communities of Missional Practice Facilitators; churches; CBF constituency.

DUTIES:

  1. Create, facilitate, nurture and oversee virtual resource networks for CBF GM Field Personnel, MOU Partnerships, Communities of Missional Practice and MC Networks.  60%
  2. Provide ongoing information, stories and initiatives that highlight the endeavors and opportunities of CBF Missional Church Ministries in coordination with CBF Advancement. Be both a resource person as needed by CBF Advancement but also proactive in identifying and promoting MC Ministries to CBF constituency.  15%
  3. Strategize, develop, and implement Communities of Missional Practice along with GM Missiologist and Director of Missional Church Ministries.  10%
  4. Be the primary trainer of and resource person for volunteer network facilitators for the GM virtual networks.  10%
  5. Other duties as assigned.  5%

REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION

College degree required; graduate or seminary degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

 

Communication and marketing experience; Ability to use the internet and web-based communities; proven people skills; administrative experience; CBF experience preferred.
 

SKILLS

 
  • Knowledge of computers, websites, and virtual communities with proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to train in small group settings and to guide individuals through network processes with sensitivity and clarity
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Professionalism in both written and verbal communication skills especially as it relates to working with field personnel, churches, and constituency as a whole
  • Understanding of missional concept of CBF
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to be visionary especially in regard to thinking outside the box and flexibility with change
  • Willingness to travel (at times extensively)
  • Ability to advocate for others in the development of network processes
  • Willingness to work with others as a team player as well as the ability to work
  • independently and with self motivation.
  • A working knowledge of the internal structure of CBF and of local congregations
