Faith Formation is one of the four strategic initiatives in the CBF long-range plan.
This initiative is part of the work of the staff of Congregational Life.
We seek to equip, empower, and encourage individuals and congregations as they discover and fulfill their God-given mission.
The Faith Formation initiative encourages congregations and individual Christians in their journey toward Christ-likeness.
Specifically, the Faith Formation initiative involves…
1) The Missional Church – When sharing in evangelism and outreach opportunities, the individual Christian seeks ways to share his/her passion on purpose in being the presence of Christ.
The Missional Church is more about passion and presence than it is about programs.
2) Spiritual Formation – As we respond to the need of each individual, we encourage the on-going development of the core of who we are as individual believers.Spiritual Formation is the process of being shaped in the image of Christ by the gracious working of God's Spirit, for the transformation of the world.
We accomplish these priorities through the development of congregational resources, personal consultations unique to each congregation, and the training of ministry and lay leaders in all areas of parish ministry.
Additionally, we conduct annual continuing education events for Christian Educators, partner strategically with resource providers, and communicate current resources to the network of leaders throughout our Fellowship.
